The FRAPRU, Project Genesis and OEIL Côte-des-Neiges will hold an important press conference during which they will unveil previously unpublished statistics highlighting the dire state of Côte-des-Neiges tenant households.
These statistics were obtained through a special order placed with Statistics Canada and are based on data from the 2011 National Household Survey. Included as part of the figures to be unveiled will include the number of Côte-des-Neiges tenants spending more than 30%, 50% and 80% of their incomes on rent, the number of tenant households residing in overcrowded dwellings in addition to the particularly difficult housing situations faced by newly arrived immigrants in this multicultural neighbourhood.
Tenants facing major housing difficulties will be present to tell their stories.
